This one is a special one, y’all. Natalie and Jason are one of those couples who bring out the best in you. They’re so kind, so gentle, so fun, and so in love. As you may remember, Natalie and Jason got engaged at my first-ever styled shoot in spring 2017. He dropped down on one knee after the bulk of the styled shoot was through, completely surprising his then-fake bride. The moment was perfect and their wedding was nothing less! I love how Natalie and Jason used as many of the vendors from the styled shoot as they could. Being the photographer at the styled shoot and then their wedding was not only so much fun but also so rewarding to see this sweet couple’s love grow and change through the seasons. Natalie made the most gorgeous bride, and Jason made such a dapper and handsome groom.
It doesn’t look like it rained much on this day, but from the start of things in the morning all the way through the first look, the rain was off and on between a downpour and abundant sunshine. What one might consider as a nuisance, Natalie and Jason embraced it and ultimately enjoyed their day as it unfolded. Their ceremony space stayed dry, and we shot the bridal party photos as soon as the sky cleared. The ceremony took place in the sunken gardens at Castle and Key. This perfect scene felt like a straight-up FAIRYTALE. After the ceremony, while we shot the couple’s portraits at sunset, guests enjoyed cocktails and yard games by the springs. After a warm welcome to the Tates, everyone feasted on pizza, salad, gelato, and coffee. During the reception, the couple’s dearest friends + family shared memories, tons of laughs, and a few tears while gushing over Natalie and Jason then danced the night away. I stole Natalie and Jason away for them to have a few minutes together + grab a drink from the Tin Can food truck outside. It made for some sweet photos and gave them a minute to geek out over their day for a minute. Then, they were sent off with sparklers and tons of cheering.
I’ll forever hold this couple near and dear to my heart! Thank you, Natalie and Jason, for trusting me to capture the most intimate, most amazing moments in life.
Xo
